ART TROUGH THE EYES OF A WOMAN " My focus isn´t necessarily on what the eyes can see, but on what the heart can feel " Art has always been a part of Beate’s being. Born in 1970, she studied interior arquitecture and aquired a Bachelor of Arts. After years of working in different arquitecture studios, in 2005 she moved her residence to the Canary Islands, where she finally get into art after overcoming the belief that making art is all about an innate talent. With passion and determination she learned different techniques and evolved her art constantly. Her body of work revolves around energy and beauty which she embodies in her expressive portraits of people and animals. Her paintings celebrate the uniqueness of the individual. The artist`s creative process is an interplay between accuracy and intuitive impulses. To create her unique style, she uses acrylic paint in various consistencies, painted, dripped and spatulated in multiple layers. The interplay of textures with intense colours and monochrome facial features builds emotional and visual tension. Beate participated in a variety of local art exhibition and as an emerging artist she presented her art also digitally at international exhibitions in Milan, Zurich and Miami. " What fascinates me about painting portraits is the uniqueness of each face, it is the first thing we perceive and remember about a person. Sometimes a facial expression can convey more than words, especially the eyes play a big role in non-verbal communication. Therefore, most of my portraits seek direct eye contact with the viewer in order to invite them to an interaction that should allow a deeper immersion in the image "
