I explore cameraless photographic processes that collaborate with natural elements, such as light, water, and plant matter, to reflect ecological vulnerability and resilience in the Anthropocene.
Aindreas Scholz (b. Wiesbaden, Germany) is a German-Irish, London-based photographer working with analogue and cameraless photographic processes. His practice combines 19th-century printing methods with contemporary ecological concerns, often incorporating natural elements such as sunlight, seawater, and plant matter. Scholz’s work addresses questions of environmental vulnerability, deep time, and human responsibility within the Anthropocene.
In 2023, he was nominated by PhotoIreland for FUTURES Photography, and his work has been exhibited across Europe, including at the Rotterdam Photo Festival (Netherlands), Rotlicht Festival for Analog Photography (Austria), and Climanosco (Switzerland). His photographs are held in public and private collections including the Office of Public Works (Ireland), the NHS Foundation Trust (UK), and galleries in Germany and Belgium. Recent presentations include Salon/24 at Photofusion (London) and the RPS IPE 166 at Saatchi Gallery (London), where he was a finalist.
Scholz studied photography at Technological University Dublin and completed postgraduate studies at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Alongside his artistic practice, he lectures part-time, supporting disadvantaged young people to progress in creative education.
