THE ART OF THE SPIRIT, THE SPIRIT OF ART
I explore the relationship between body, mind, and spirit, addressing themes such the dimensions of thought, silence, and meditation through visual arts.
After my academic studies, I began a journey of self-knowledge and personal development in search of answers to existential questions about destiny, uncertainty, pain, and the connection between body and soul. During motherhood, I began exploring paths of personal formation and transformation, applying knowledge from genealogy, psychomagic, evolutionary tarot, and shamanic chanting. In 2016, I had unexpected brain surgery, and as part of my rehabilitation, I immersed myself in spiritual practices such as meditation and yoga. This was fundamental in reinforcing the relationship between art and spirituality within me, driving me to embark on paths in search of understanding, providing a solid foundation for my creative processes and artistic proposals.
I seek to bring the viewer closer to the spiritual and psychological dimension of art; I seek for them to experience a manifestation of the spirit through contemplation and perceive the importance of self-observation and silence in recognizing and understanding the essence of being. I aim to offer sensory experiences, attempting to make visible the invisible—what is not seen but perceived when looking, what is not said but felt when speaking, the noises and silences of our internal dialogue. My work is an intimate and personal attempt to guide others toward their own essence, as I believe the world undoubtedly needs spirituality.
My three main lines of visual exploration are painting, fabric assemblages, and large-format spatial installations. I establish visual dialogues between textiles, texts, pigments, and textures on natural fabrics. I am always mindful of maintaining the balance between the work's creative process, its arrangement in the exhibition space, and the viewer's interaction with it.
My works have been exhibited nationally and internationally, both individually and collectively, in museums, fairs and galleries.
