My vibe
Quietly surreal, deeply symbolic and rooted in storytelling, my art explores the mysteries of memory, emotion and human connection.
About me
I am a figurative sculptor whose work exists in a space between sculpture, painting and narrative form. Working with air-drying Creative Paperclay, I create expressive figures and reliefs with a quiet emotional presence, often incorporating symbolic and found elements that suggest memory, journey and transformation. My work invites viewers into a space of reflection, where stories are not told directly, but gradually discovered.
Life is full of mystery, and it is this sense of the unknown that fascinates me and inspires my art. I am drawn to the things we cannot fully explain: the space between reality and imagination, the moment between decisions, the memories we carry, and the possibility that something extraordinary might exist just beyond what we can see. My sculptures inhabit a world between the familiar and the impossible.
Through my work, I explore contradictions: elements that cannot coexist yet find harmony within the same piece. A Snowball Collector preserves snow forever; an Unknown Soldier achieves the impossible; Moonlight Birds carry messages from distant worlds. These characters explores the ideas about human experience: our hopes, fears, memories, ambitions and the things we continue to believe in even when they seem impossible.
I often think of my sculptures as characters from stories that have not yet been completely written. Their expressions, gestures, objects and surroundings contain clues, allowing each narrative to unfold gradually. Sometimes an idea arrives fully formed; at other times, it emerges through the process of making.
I value the possibility that a viewer may imagine a completely different story from the one I had in mind. Once a work leaves my studio, it becomes part of the viewer’s imagination. For me, this dialogue between artist, artwork and viewer is at the heart of visual storytelling.
I am a Full Member of SWA, and my work has received recognition through awards and exhibitions nationally and internationally.
