About me

I see the canvas as a place to misbehave. It’s where I can take risks, break away from convention and challenge the rules around what is beautiful, acceptable or worth looking at.
I’m drawn to emotion, desire, identity and especially the female body — a subject so often judged, controlled or reduced to something for others to look at. In my work, I want to turn that gaze around. The body becomes something to celebrate, reclaim and play with: sensual, vulnerable, powerful, imperfect and entirely its own.
I’m interested in making paintings that don’t behave perfectly, either.
