With a philosophical curiosity about human nature and a commitment to empowering artists and fresh artistic voices.
Boyana Raycheva was born in Bulgaria and graduated in International Relations from Malmö University in Sweden in 2014.
With over 10 years of experience in marketing and PR, she has worked for major companies such as BMW Group and the US-based Virtusa Corporation, where she gained solid expertise in communications and built an extensive network of contacts and partnerships.
Since 2015, Boyana has been actively engaged in the cultural scene. After participating in a workshop organized by the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, she organized her first exhibition. She studied Painting at the National Academy of Arts, where she met like-minded individuals and in 2022 was part of The Artist at Play (TAAP)—a series of monthly exhibition-events that encourage young artists to experiment based on predefined themes. To date, TAAP has realized more than 13 exhibitions and operates as a non-governmental organization focused on stimulating new artistic practices and supporting emerging artists.
As an independent curator, Boyana primarily works in the cultural space “Bobbina,” which has established itself as a platform for new artistic explorations and experimentation. Her work focuses on supporting young artists in their professional development, promoting their works, and creating opportunities for visibility within the cultural environment.
In 2023 and 2024, Boyana completed specialized courses in Curating and Gallery Management at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, further enriching her professional competencies and expanding her creative opportunities in the fields of visual arts and cultural management.
Among her notable curatorial projects are:
• “Disintegration” – solo exhibition by David Tadese (2023)
• “A Poem in Wood and Metal” – solo exhibition by Philip Popov (2024)
• “Stranger” – solo exhibition by Samuil Velev (2024)
• “Estafeta” – group exhibition featuring five young artists (2025)
• “Between two” – solo exhibition by Samuil Velev (2025)
