About me

My name is Dzintars Kalniņš, and my artistic world isn’t found in silence or static frames—it lives in movement, energy, and co-creation. As the founder and creative force behind the "Paint & Progress" studio, I believe that painting is a universal language that anyone can speak.

My artistic practice is rooted in expressive abstraction. I work with large formats and mix techniques, using bold, wide strokes to capture emotions in their purest form. I am fascinated by contrasts—how thick textures coexist with ethereal glazes and how corporate precision can be transformed into an emotional masterpiece.

The "Paint & Progress" studio is my vision of art as a collective experience. I have developed a unique approach to breaking down internal barriers and the fear of the "blank canvas." Through my workshops and large-scale co-creation projects, I facilitate processes where dozens of people simultaneously become co-authors of a single, unified work of art. It is a process where individual contribution merges with group dynamics to create something monumental and lasting.

My mission is to bring art into spaces where it’s least expected—from corporate boardrooms to city festivals. I believe in "progress through paint"—that the act of creating develops not only an aesthetic sense but also courage, communication, and mutual connection.
