About me

I’m an artist painting both abstract and figurative works. I’ve been painting for 30 years, murals, portraits and landscapes as well as more experimental pieces. I’m currently working on soundscapes- paintings of
Places based on their sound. I blindfold myself and listen to the place, then paint it according to the colours that I hear. These paintings are sometimes huge, sometimes very small. I plan to travel the world painting with my ears, depending on fuel. In my other life I’m a writer and bibliotherapist so I am very influenced by literature. The soundscape paintings were inspired by Blindness, a book published in 1995 by Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago.
