My vibe
Sacred artist exploring presence, memory and materiality of the icon
About me
I am Emil Tzeinski, an iconographer and sacred artist, founder of Icone Sacre. My practice is rooted in the Orthodox Byzantine tradition, working with natural materials — gessoed wood, egg tempera, natural pigments and gold leaf.
For me, the icon is not an illustration but a liturgical presence, created through prayer, fasting and slow layering. I create icons for churches and private devotion, as well as for exhibitions exploring sacred heritage.
I am interested in how an ancient canonical image can speak in our contemporary world — offering stillness, contemplation and a sense of the sacred. Each work is made to be prayed with, not just looked at.
Based between Italy and Belarus, I am open to church commissions, restorations, workshops and collaborative projects.
