About me

I am a British, Cypriot, contemporary artist whose work accentuates the beauty and hidden details of the natural world.

Applying the same level of detail when I painted traditionally with watercolours as a natural history illustrator, my technique now combines digital painting with hand-finished prints, using the highest quality fine art paper in small editions or one-of-a-kind pieces.

I explore themes of transformation and rebirth, highlighting the fragility of life through my depiction of butterflies. Working from real specimens, I examine both the physical beauty and lesser known details of these delicate organisms.

Working digitally allows me to create on a much larger scale, as though seeing the subject under a magnifying glass, encouraging the viewer to feel connected to nature and experience the same awe and wonder that inspires me.

The butterfly presents itself as a reminder of humanity’s growing disconnect from nature in recent years, with its brief but intentional life cycle. Through my work, I invite viewers to
re-examine their connection to the natural world, encouraging greater awareness and a desire to re-establish harmony and balance.

I have exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2012 and have participated in solo and group exhibitions throughout the UK. My awards include Best Artist, East of England, at the National Open Art Awards in 2016, and The Secret Art Prize 2018, awarded by Curious Duke Gallery.

In 2019, I was selected as one of the winners of The Cult House Open Call. I am currently exhibiting my latest work in a solo show at Blacks Club in Soho, London. Most recently, I was selected to exhibit at the Salon des Beaux Arts in Paris as part of its 160th anniversary exhibition.
This year I was pleased to be a finalist in the Visual Art Open at the Minster Building, London.
