I like the conversation about the female body as a carrier of experience, memory and meaning. About form as a gesture of freedom.
I use a variety of materials: canvas, ancient textiles, ceramics.
My house-workshop is in Latvia, in Tīraine. I like to paint people in different emotional states. I like to metaphorically exaggerate with lines and colorful textures, to introduce strange symbolic accents. My stories are observations that seek generalizations about people. I study the history of humanity and foreshadow the future through drawings of the female body. Solo exhibition "Eva's Return" is currently taking place in Ukraine at the National Gallery in Lviv. It is the first contemporary art project from the Baltics since the beginning of the war. A performance took place as part of the exhibition. "Eva's Return" is a conversation about the female body as a carrier of experience, memory and meaning. About form as a gesture of freedom. Paintings, textile collages are dedicated to the image of women as carriers of the creative energy of the people's existence, memory and life. In dialogue with the paintings are ceramic objects "Vases", made in Latvia using the ancient technique of Kosiva folk masters.. In these works, the female body appears as an archetypal structure, a repository of generational experience and cultural continuity.
In my project, I highlight the strong spirit, ancient roots, powerful genetic code of Ukrainian and Baltic women through form, line and color as if “engraving” in the stone of the world: these peoples will never disappear, because they carry an ancient folk song and light..
