My vibe
I don't paint flowers, I paint personalities
About me
Ilse Krūkle paints flowers, but her paintings are not about flowers alone. In the paintings, images of nature transform into personalities – sensual, bold, sometimes fragile, and a little mysterious. Monumental scale, saturated color, and an almost tactile texture of the petals allow us to see in nature that which we walk past every day. Photorealistic precision in her works meets a free, emotional brushstroke, creating a borderland between reality and feeling.
Ilse paints not only how a flower looks, but also how it feels. In her works, nature is the antithesis of the noise of everyday information – a place to stop for a moment, take a breath, and simply look. The artist's special interest in the inner power, light, and symbolic language of flowers gives a seemingly familiar motif an entirely different intensity. Ilse's paintings are simultaneously able to be both a powerful room accent and a very personal conversation partner for the viewer.
Her works are located in private collections in Latvia and several European countries, but the artist herself continues to seek ever-new ways to transform the beauty of nature into emotion. This is painting that does not demand attention, but rather draws the gaze – and then won't let go.
