About me

Hi, I’m Irina. Thanks for stopping by — I guess one of my works made you take out your phone :)
I’m actually a civil engineer by education. For years, my world was about drawings, precision and things that could be explained. Then art came into my life — a place where not everything needs an explanation.
These days, I’m fascinated by what it means to be human in a world of screens, endless information and constant connection. We’re always online, yet somehow loneliness, anxiety and a strange sense of disconnection seem to be growing.
Maybe that’s why my paintings are populated by horses in headphones, cacti, psychoanalysts, neon cities and situations that are just a little absurd. I like using vivid colour and irony to talk about things that aren’t always funny.
I don’t want to tell you what you’re supposed to see in a painting. I’d much rather you find your own story in it — or at least leave with a question.
I also love the physical side of painting: the paint, the canvas, the colour and texture. Perhaps that’s why I’m so interested in the tension between the digital world and something real, physical and touchable.
If one of my works made you stop for just a little longer than usual, then it has already done its job.
