About me
Jane M. (Jian Ma) is a Chinese-born contemporary oil painter with a commercial presence in the United States. Her paintings begin with landscape, distilling it into psychological and emotional space. Geometry emerges as the structure that remains after simplification, while light, silence and absence shape the experience of each work.
A recurring luminous threshold suggests a passage into memory, distance and the unknown. Through a limited palette, interrupted forms and layered oil paint, she explores what remains when familiar places become traces.
Her painting The Geometry of Silence – Chapter 01: Rooms of Light IV was selected as a finalist in the Art Educator category of Visual Art Open 2026. Selected works are presented internationally through UGallery and Artfinder.
