I'm an aspiring curator based in Italy. As I move my first steps into curation, the themes I'm more passionate about are those connected to gender, decolonial practices, ecology and climate change.
I'm currently specialising in Arts, Museology and Curatorship at the University of Bologna, where I have moved my first steps into the development of curatorial projects. Some of these have been hypothetical projects, others have only been realised for the purposes of final examinations. The one I'm most proud of, however, is currently being exhibited in Supino library in Bologna; this project is related to the italian Radical Architecture groups Archizoom and Superstudio and their practise regarding the design of objects and furniture. The aim is to valorise and promote the library's heritage regarding the topics of research. In order to do so, the curatorial collective I was part of has reached out and partnered with Bologna's Academy of Fine Arts, and thanks to the precious help of a professor and three students, we have been able to showcase four 3D models juxtaposed to books related to the topics in our display. The latter is supported by a grid of mirrors that echoes the concept of "SuperSurface" by Superstudio, but at the same time serves the purpose of showing the object's three-dimensionality, as well as reflecting the viewers and their surroundings made up of shelves of books.
During my Bachelor's I had some formative experiences of mediation and guide of visitors in some of the most prestigious museums in Turin, my hometown, as well as during the Torino Art Week dedicated to contemporary art.
In addition, thanks to a university lab, I was able to mediate cultural heritage to audiences beyond the academic community through the study some roman bronze statuettes that are part of the Archaeological collection of Musei Reali of Turin, and the production of a text designed to help families and children engage with the heritage.
For the near future I envision myself working in a multidisciplinary network of professionals, and I strive to create a sustainable, environmentally responsible art world, ideally in a feminist, ecological and decolonial environment.
