paracinematic practices in contemporary art
Louise Bouvet-Zieleskiewicz is a curator and PhD researcher. She graduated from the EHESS in Paris with a degree in Art and Language, and studied philosophy of art at the Sorbonne. She attended the School of Curatorial Studies in Venice. She is the artistic director of the site-specific paracinematic manifestation SITUATIONS PROJECTIONS.
Her research explores the phenomenology of the cinematic event within contemporary moving image practices. These questions are examined through a cross-disciplinary lens, bridging curatorial studies, philosophy, and visual culture. She focuses on the event-based nature of moving image , investigating how para-cinematic gestures reconfigure the conditions of the viewing experience. These forms are considered as critical tools that disrupt normative frameworks of perception, temporality, and spectatorship.
