Martin Miklas is a conceptual documentary and fine art lens-based visual artist based in Lisbon and originally from Bratislava.
The Slovak photographer is dedicated to important topics such as climate change and its impact on marine biodiversity. His lenses focus on the negative impact of global warming on the fishing industry, especially from a socio-economic and ecological point of view.
Martin is an alumnus of the 2022-23 VII Photo Masterclass and a proud father of two, currently on full-time paternity leave.
Martin's professional accolades include the Slovak Press Photo Award, the Czech Nature Photo Award, and the Paris International Street Photo Award. He has also been recognized by the IPA Award, PX3, and the Lucie Foundation, and was selected as the B&W Photographer of the Year 2024. His work has been exhibited in Canada, Scotland, the USA, the UAE, England, Italy, Greece, France, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland over the past two years.
