I want to find out more about the physicality of my materials and their relationship to my body, to use this knowledge to enhance my work, to set myself challenges to keep me moving forward.
Working with analog and digital techniques, I am discovering intriguing connections between the two worlds, especially in the relationships between line, colour and form.
In my digital pictures, I build strong forms and textures with vivid colour using only straight lines. I often create pictures in series, where form and colour create an energy-laden dynamic, playing off each other for the attention of the eye.
My analog pictures are made in a more traditional way with acrylic paint on various surfaces, where colour meets line in the form of gesture.
In both analog and digital formats, I am fascinated by what appears beneath the surface as the work progresses.
