My vibe
I paint quite “in-between spaces", where our identity, memory and personal stories have shifted, or are about to - and the boundary between dream and reality feels very uncertain and vulnerable.
About me
I am a Lithuanian, living between two countries: Lithuania, where I was born and now study master in painting at Vilnius Academy of Arts, and Denmark, where I have spent more than half of my life, created family and my adult professional life. My everyday life unfolds between different languages, cultures, social norms, and identities. This constant navigation has shaped the central question behind my creative work: who am I becoming?
Before entering the art field, I built a career in international business and innovation. In 2023, I left behind a secure business life to pursue my painting dream. This transition was not only professional, but deeply personal: a move away from externally defined roles toward a search for life meaning, and authenticity through art.
My art practice focuses on personal transformation, observed as a tension between dream and everyday reality. I am interested in the emotional states that appear at the threshold of change: uncertainty, longing, fear, and hope. In a society where identity is fluid and constantly reconstructed, we have the freedom to become who ever we want, but also the burden of choosing who to be.
In my paintings, I explore these questions through personal and universal experiences: migration, memory, womanhood, family life, and the search for meaning. I use transit spaces such as airports, airplanes, corridors, and passages as metaphors for transformation. These spaces embody liminality: the state of being “no longer” and “not yet.”
My visual language moves toward emotional and atmospheric expression, through fragmentation, abstraction, and colour, Influenced by artists such as Peter Doig, Marlene Dumas, and Paula Rego, I seek to create psychologically charged spaces where something has shifted, or is about to shift.
At the core of my work is a desire to make inner conflict visible and to invite reflection on a simple but demanding question: do we dare to pursue the dream, and in doing so, allow ourselves to change?
