About me

My artistic practice began as a form of escape. Alongside my work as a domestic abuse practitioner, where my day-to-day work can often be emotionally demanding, art has become a space where I can create, explore and have control over a world of my own. Creating allows me to step away from the heaviness of everyday life and reconnect with the beauty, imagination and wonder that can sometimes become lost as we grow older.

My Other Worlds collection was created during a particularly difficult period in my life, shaped by bereavement, ill health and heartbreak. I began creating imagined worlds that I could escape into, drawing on the sense of childhood wonder that I believe remains within all of us. These pieces became more than simply artworks; they became places of comfort, allowing me to transform difficult emotions into something beautiful and tangible.

I have always been fascinated by crystals and the natural beauty of their colours, formations and textures. I find something inherently calming in observing and learning about them, and this connection has become a defining part of my artistic practice. Crystals feature in every piece I create, and I hope my work becomes recognisable for its distinctive use of authentic crystals alongside mixed media, texture and reflective surfaces.

Sharing work that holds such personal meaning initially felt vulnerable. However, I have come to see art as a way of allowing those emotions and experiences to exist outside of myself, while hopefully giving others a sense of beauty, calm and escapism too. Through my work, I want to create small portals into other worlds — places where imagination can take over and where, even for a moment, we can reconnect with the wonder we once had as children.
