Creating art to set myself free from the quiet shame that comes with life in a bigger body.
As a fat woman in the 21st century, I need to scream. My rage growing alongside my body, unattended until I finally put it on the paper. I create art to set myself free, to make struggles visible and to demand solutions. I create to give myself hope.
My work explores the intimate experiences around fatness, eating disorders, and the body dysmorphic disorder. Primarily working with Acrylic painting and Linocut printmaking, I weave a critique of our past and present and build imagery for a more hopeful future. I brandish my mediums as my weapons for change.
