My portraits are an invitation to pause, feel, and connect.
Some are rooted in truth, others in imagination.
What matters most is the emotion they stir in you.

I am so delighted to be here in London for the Visual Art Open Finalist Exhibition!

I am a New Yorker, transplanted to Milan, Italy over 20 years ago and immersed in history, design and amazing architecture to fuel my inspiration.
My focus always leads back to people-they remain the CENTER of my life and my artpractice.

In the studio, I begin by sketching and collaging for a color palletes and to loosen up. And then use a model or my own photo references to create portraiture or figurative work.

With graphite and charcoal, things are tight and intimate, but color allows me to fly loose and free.

I attended the Milan Accademy of Art to improve my technique and can't wait to see how my new work evolves!

What am I working on?
Some plein air landscape studies to incorporate in my work. Lots of loose line sketches-you won't catch me without a sketchbook-and I have a few pieces in mind about family dynamics. They will be in Oil, in large format, interacting as family does, but no less intimate.
