About me

Originally from Derby, now living in North Yorkshire, I have developed my style with influences from Japanese tattoo, woodblock prints and botanical illustration. These influences blend with my personal experiences and reinterpretation of natural subject matters including birds, animals, plants and flowers.

I am inspired to create vibrant paintings, full of contrast and movement that grab the attention and draw the viewer in, inviting them to explore the depth of the image and the details of the subject matter. In creating my work I have a focus on craftsmanship, taking time to continually develop and refine my use of traditional materials such as Japanese sumi ink. This adds a depth and authenticity to make work that also brings with it a greater connection to the traditional styles that inspire me.

My work has been exhibited at art fairs and events in Surrey, London and across North Yorkshire, and featured in local press, gaining me wide exposure and helping to develop a growing and varied client base.
