My vibe
"Creating thought-provoking visual narratives that invite viewers to slow down, reflect, and look a little closer."
About me
I am Twebaze—a master painter, tactile fine artist, and the founder of Twebaze Art Studio. Operating out of my studio in Makerere, I bridge the gap between fine painting and physical sculpture to create heavy-relief, structural artworks that transform modern spaces.
My Art & Medium
My artwork is defined by its deep physical texture and organic presence. Rather than treating canvas as a flat surface, I build multi-dimensional environments using mixed media, heavy pigments, and physical aggregate like gravel on cotton canvas.
Tactile Surface Work: Every piece is crafted to interact with light and space, shifting in depth and tone throughout the day as natural shadows move across the aggregate.
Left-Handed Technique: My stroke rhythm, pigment placement, and spatial flow reflect my perspective as a left-handed creator, giving each piece a distinct physical energy.
Master Craftsmanship: Every original piece is created in my home studio in Makerere, produced with gallery-grade materials designed for long-term preservation.
Community & Exhibitions
Fine art lives through connection. In addition to creating original works for private collections, I actively contribute to the regional art ecosystem:
Exhibitions: My original works have been featured in major venues, including the POATE Exhibition at Speke Resort, Munyonyo.
Workshops & Instruction: I lead weekend painting sessions at the National Theater and direct hands-on pottery workshops, teaching form, texture, and creative technique to emerging artists.
