About me

Yared Hailemichael is a contemporary Ethiopian studio artist based in Addis Ababa whose practice centers on abstract portraiture and figurative oil painting. Working with heavy impasto textures, dense layering, palette knife applications, and charcoal, his art explores themes of identity, liminal space, and human vulnerability. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design and has exhibited across East Africa and Europe. His deeply tactile works invite viewers into intimate psychological self-reflection and rich visual engagement.
