My vibe
In my painting and poetry, stillness becomes strength.
About me
Zane Lasmane is a Latvian painter and poet. Her abstract landscapes are drawn from what she sees and what she feels: the outer landscape becomes a reflection of an inner one. The horizon is at the centre of her work, the line that both separates and joins earth and sky, the outer world and the inner. She works mainly in oil and acrylic, often beginning in plein air along the Latvian coast.
Through Stillpower Studio she explores stillness not as retreat but as quiet strength, a way of standing firmly in one's place. Alongside painting, she writes poetry and studies at the Literary Academy of the Writers' Union of Latvia.
