My vibe
Zlata’s paintings are a visual diary of emotions and interconnected stories. “Every small piece of knowledge about the world forms the foundation of my work.”
About me
Zlata Lebedz (b. 1998, Minsk, Belarus) is a painter living and working in Kraków, Poland. She studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where she graduated under the supervision of Andrzej Tobis and Dominika Kowynia.
Her artistic practice is centred on oil painting and also includes the creation of objects. Rooted in self-creation, her work translates personal experiences, emotions, and reflections onto canvas. She approaches painting as a radical process of searching that leads to the ordering of matter. Every small piece of knowledge about the world forms the foundation of her work. The space for this knowledge is constantly changing and must continually be replenished.
Zlata’s paintings function as a visual diary, recounting events and emotions while creating a network of interconnected stories. Her sensitivity to difficult and uncomfortable subjects, combined with a sense of hope, makes art a deeply personal way of communicating with the world.
Selected exhibitions and programmes: Between Despair and Determination, FRINGE, Warsaw (2025); Adulthood Does Not Exist, Eskaem, Gdańsk (2025); I Follow You. And Myself., Eskaem, Gdańsk (2024); Salzburg Summer Academy (2023); SURVIVAL Art Review, Wrocław (2023).
