I am Simona Adelina Ionescu, originally from Romania, currently living in Bucharest. I inherited my passion for art from my grandmother, who was a truly gifted painter. In memory of my grandmother, my paintings are signed by the short version of the name she has chosen for me, Adela. Despite having painted from age 6, under the guidance of distinguished professors from my birth city, my education and fate have carried me in a completely different direction, the legal one. After finishing Law University, I moved to Bucharest, where I followed a career as a lawyer, a profession I still find myself into this day. I started painting again 7 years ago, when, upon reaching a certain professional and spiritual maturity, I realised that, in order to stay true to myself, the element that anchors my identity and also helps me reinvent is painting. It is, as I like to call it, a return to my own essence. Therefore, I am an artist lawyer. My creative learning and development are currently in full swing; I am constantly discovering more and more about my own artistic identity, as I try to establish my own „footprint” in every painting I make. Each of my works contains a story, not limited to a single painting, but a whole series of them, which seen as a whole reveal the message of my themes. I like to invite the looker to decrypt the elements linked in my paintings, to recompose them in their own imagination as a puzzle.
