Alice Lipping

As an Artist, I have always been fascinated with the process of painting. I enjoy experimenting with different ways of mark-making and investigating contrasts, not only through color but through different textures and space. I begin my paintings intuitively with large and loose brush marks, as I add more to the piece that’s when the paintings begin to evolve in their own time. Energy and balance is created through this mark making and my paintings become more refined. Having lived and worked in the NYC area for over 28 years, my art is mostly influenced by the textures and colors of the urban environment.
