Nowadays, the new technologies are key tools in the hands of governments to protect the citizens by identifying the criminals. In some cases though, there is the feeling that these technological tools turn against you. To realize Webcam.me, the artist searched web archives from surveillance cameras located in various points of St. Petersburg. This way she could look at herself from the outside, as if she could look beyond the system. The placards show the impossibility of getting to the view of the governors, of being heard. The resolution makes the placards look empty as if they were muted.
