A Day in December is a large oil painting of a pheasant in a winter woodland. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The painting is impressionistic, art nouveau and contemporary in style and is a capture of a day I spent in December last year in Friston Forest near Seaford. Autumn was very late and there were still leaves on the trees but the sun was very low so all kinds of interesting colours were circulating between warm and cold under the tree cover and this is what I wanted to catch. The pheasant is just a gorgeous twit who looked perfect in the composition.
