Blue is a fascinating colour. I love to observe how a drop of slate blue ink permeates the water and comes to life on my canvas. When creating this piece, I stepped out of my comfort zone of representational painting. Instead of setting a specific scene, I focused on the colour, texture and how seemingly plain everyday materials transform into art. A Slash of Slate Blue invites you to a creative process led by intuition, which is a form of mental escape, full of adventure, surprise, and most importantly, joy.
