As my main topic in art is problems of women in society, this piece is not an exception. I'm from Uzbekistan, where women have a huge history and still have no rights. 1927 was the year when women en masse took off their burqa (paranja). It was a big step for women, a step towards freedom. But what did this freedom cost many of them? Broken legs, hands, bruised faces and bodies, and for some, even death, not only from a stranger's hands but even from family members (fathers or brothers).
