The Flowers Scream Their Joy is a painting of an exuberant meadow full of buttercups that expresses the joy of June in the English countryside. It is 36x30x1.5 inches oil on canvas. The title is taken from a line in a song by The Lotus Eaters and seemed very appropriate. Yellow is known as the happiest of colours and when buttercups go mad like this it makes me very happy. The inspiration for the painting was walking through farmland near West Grinstead in Sussex (though it could be anywhere in England in June).
