Zamca fortified monastery dating from the eary 15th century, built on the outskirts of the old mediaval town of Suceava--in North-East Romania. This painting was inspired by a dream I had about finding myself before its walls in a time long past. This is a mixed media piece, combining oil with pencil, oil crayons and lots of glazings attempting to create a classical (see the rendition of the sky) yet dream-like mood(see the distinguished lady and the horse-drawn carriage, both suggesting maybe 16th or 17th century
