This series of portraits was produced during the Art Residence at Budapest State Circus in spring 2023. For a week I lived in a circus with performers coming from Uzbekistan, Moldova, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Hungary. I watched them having breakfast, practicing, doing homework, talking to their families and, of course, performing every day at the circus dome. The spectators could only see them under the heavy make up, masks and costumes. But the natural beauty and uniqueness of their faces strikes me the most. Through simple black and white portraits their eternal beauty glows.
