The Ancient Spell is a semi abstract magical landscape painting of the view through a woodland to a ridge of hills beyond. It is 36x30x1.5 inches oil on canvas. Under the trees you can see a hint of foxgloves and other wildflowers and the leaves of the trees are glowing and verdant. In the middle of the ridge of hills beyond there is a bump on the horizon that is actually the clump of trees on Chanctonbury Ring -an iron age fort on the South Downs. The is an actual place I found whilst walking though farmland in June.
