A “cookie-cutter solution,” is an idiom that denotes standardisation, but it is through the objects’ simplicity that there is room to play with its meanings. The work blurs the craft/fine art boundary by using kitsch objects like lace and cookie cutters in a fine art context. The use of domestic symbols embedded in the work brings to light the often underappreciated labour of women. Daisy Chain is made from lace imprinted paper clay assembled by hand.
