With the creation of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), the Iraqi Peshmerga Kurds ceased fighting in the mountains, except against ISIS. Kurdish organizations from Iran and Turkey are not represented in the Iranian or Turkish parliaments and are considered opposition groups to these states. They have established their bases outside the borders of these countries in the Zagros mountains within Iraqi Kurdistan. While there are numerous opposition groups operating in these mountains, the groups from Rojhelat (Eastern Kurdistan) in these mountains are Komala and KDP-I .
