Midsummer Jubilance is a big joyful oil painting of poppies in a summer meadow under a tree. It is semi-abstract and slightly art nouveau in style. 40x40x1.5 inches. The intention of this painting was to show the way that nature competes, especially in summer, to get the attention of what it needs. In the case of poppies, it needs bees and other poppies, sunlight, water and possibly many other things. I love how in spring and summer this desire to be seen reaches a peak and have tried to show the sheer jubilance of a simple clump of summer poppies.
