This project is a series of black-and-white photographs that aim to examine the history of Lebanon's first mental asylum which was founded in 1898 by a Swiss Quaker missionary. Closing its doors in 1982, a victim of Lebanon's civil war, this photography project documents the traces. It reflects upon Lebanese History trying to comprehend the many cultural and socio-political layers. The photographs document the ruins of the place while reshuffling its spaces as a construction of memories before they fade from existence.
