Getting Closer is a large semi-abstract oil painting of a vibrantly coloured magical woodland. A stream comes through it and a deer stag can be seen watching us in the distance. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. To the left are dark but colourful trees and around them curves a small river glittering and reflecting the warm autumn colours around it. On the far bank a small stag can be seen. The painting was created by overlapping many layers of transparent colour and shimmers like a stained-glass window.
