Jordan Sullivan’s pieces take after another work of his he donated to the Villa Lena Foundation: a face, just like the one of his limited edition prints, but in the cyanotype medium. This characteristic gives it an ever-changing mutating and never-fixed identity, which ambiguously clashes with its role as a starting point, fixed, for his experimentations in the print medium. Furthermore, the latter are different in their iterations, being of three different colours, adding to the uncertainty of identity that comes with the representation of an ungendered face, emotionless or perhaps surprised.
