Natures Statement is an exuberant summer flower meadow landscape that aims to capture the sheer enthusiasm and abundance of a wildflower meadow in July. It is 36x30x1.5inches. The painting captures an actual site on the South Downs near Graffham and Heyshott across a field through various summer flowers in pinks, orange, yellow and faded greens and cream. The dark trees in the background help to emphasize the flowers and there is a slight hump behind the central clump of flowers which is an ancient tumulus (burial mound) of the late Neolithic period.
