Barbara Evina

Barbara Evina is a Cameroon born french artist who took up painting as a tool of self expression. Based in Berlin since 2019, she started painting as a mean of introspection. Barbara Evina’s art is dedicated to women of color and more particularly black women whom to this day, lack diverse, non stereotypical representation in the art community. Her art depicts women who look like her, and share a similar, multicultural background. She believes black women can be as diverse as the entire color spectrum and should not be compartmented to the ideas society has of them. That belief is explicit through the use of bright colors and various mediums such as oil paint, oil pastel and acrylic paint.
