David Hanes

David Hanes (Canadian/American, born 1987, Toronto) is a visual artist living and working in Berlin, Germany. His work ranges from drawing, painting, photography, and sculpture, with a recent focus on painting and the reimagining painting traditions. His emphasis on the philosophy of painting, the living of it, becomes in itself a process of acceptance, and his work is transformed into not just a passing experience but an account of living in a body and a world that is ever changing.
