The Ceremony of Design Excellence: A Guide to Stockholm Design Week 2024
Prepare yourself for a week-long celebration of authenticity, innovation, and Scandinavian design excellence, from February 5th to February 11th, 2024. Throughout the week, a diverse array of events and exhibitions will unfold across Stockholm. To help you navigate this labyrinth of design marvels, we have curated a guide that selects happenings by location and timing, making it easier for you to plan your visit.

Behind the scenes, Stockholm Design Week is orchestrated by the renowned Stockholm Furniture Fair, an authority on Scandinavian design excellence. This year’s Guest of Honour is a research-design studio Formafantasma.
February, 5th: A “classical modern” story
Sthlm Design District
Start the week gloriously at Sthlm Design District, where you will find some 30 well-established brands within the design, textile and furniture industries. Everyone is invited to attend a Sustainability Talk by the company Interface, during the opening hours, from 09:00 to 15:00, at Rosenlundsgatan 40.
Galleri Sebastian Schildt
Galleri Sebastian Schildt presents the exhibition “Åke Axelsson - Nine Decades of Craftsmanship & Interiors”. From 17:00 to 18:00, visitors are invited to attend the Artist Talk between cabinet maker & interior designer Åke Axelsson and author Petter Eklund. The talk is held in Swedish language and is moderated by Sofia Silfverstolpe.
In addition, Åke’s granddaughter, the cellist Iris Guemy, will enchant the visitors by performing Johan Sebastian Bach’s first cello suite. To participate, RSVP is required at galleri@gallerisebastianschildt.se.
Italian Cultural Institute C.M. Lerici
The Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm, designed by the renowned architect Gio Ponti in 1950, stands as an architectural gem. Ponti's vision became a "classical modern" project, blending art and architecture and laying the foundation for a cultural reconciliation between Italy and Sweden.
The Italian Institute hosts an event from 18:00 to 21:00, dedicated exclusively to Formafantasma, this year’s Guest of Honour. The Formafantasma designers will discuss their studio work and milestones with Arkdes’s (Swedish Centre for Architecture and Design) curator, James Taylor-Foster.
February, 6th: Never old, always gold
Johanson
Johanson presents the exhibition “Solaris” by Teklan with a focus on circularity as an everlasting continuum. The exhibition depicts a symbol of the sun, which represents the source of all life and actions, in the present and future.
Johanson welcomes all visitors to enjoy Breakfast & Brunch in their showroom, at Blekingegatan 22, from 09:00 to 11:00 and/or 11:00 to 14:00. For the best service, please sign up in advance at lina@johansondesign.se.
Cosentino City Stockholm
Cosentino City Stockholm welcomes all guests, from 10:00 to 16:00, to discover the realms of three innovative, sustainable, and high-quality brands of their showroom - Dekton, Silestone, and Sensa. Visitors can book their place here: citystockholm@cosentino.com or by calling +46 8 525 263 80.
Otherwise, all visitors can join the After Fair on Tuesday, from 16:00 to 20:00, in the Cosentino showroom. Beyond Interior showcases its unique sliding doors with Dekton. Delight yourself with lighter food, drinks, and networking. Do not forget to book your place for the best experience.
Studio B3
Enjoy the night in Stockholm’s largest showroom for furniture, lighting, and interior design. The exhibition covers three floors of a wonderful building from the 1900s, presenting the work of 36 companies. Studio B3 is inviting all visitors to a Mingle & Music event, from 18:00 to 22:00, where they can celebrate the night with food, wine, and good music. No registration is required.
February, 7th: In the middle of delights
Gaggenau X Cosentino
Begin your Wednesday tour at Cosentino City Stockholm from 12:00 to 14:00. Enjoy lunch, and experience The Essential Induction Cooking integrated into the countertop. Recognize the art of simplicity and the revolutionary sense of Gaggenau’s kitchen-related products, in collaboration with Cosentino. Book your place at citystockholm@cosentino.com.
Andreu World
Continue the day in a newly opened showroom, at Askrikegatan 1 from 15:30 to 21:00. Visitors are encouraged to step into Andreu World’s iconic space, where they can find stunning pieces created in collaboration with distinguished international designers. Admire the latest collections and celebrate with Mediterranean tapas, wines, and drinks.
Design House Stockholm
Design House Stockholm prepared an outstanding exhibition - Expressions - curated by Ray Atelier. Visitors will discover a fusion between comfort and Finnish minimalism, perfectly blended.
From 09:00 to 18:00, all visitors are welcome to Expressions The Exhibition. The artists behind this spectacle are Lisa Larson, Isa Andersson, Joe Parr, Eva Schildt, and Tatu Laakso. This event showcases five unique designs that explore the combination of movement and geometric shapes, the concept of time, and the interaction of gravity with daily objects. Additionally, a cultural artifact from 1967 will be displayed for the first time.
February, 8th: A colorful rendezvous
Studio Maria Löw
Studio Maria Löw invites everyone to her inspiring world of Art textile collections. The award-winning design of Maria Löw depicts everyday functionality and accessible luxury in a smoothly intertwined concept. All visitors are welcomed to AW Mingel, from 17:00 to 20:00, with wine, snacks, and an excellent atmosphere.
Hve me over
Whether you are interested in interiors, designs, or authentic details, you are more than welcome to Hve me over’s event Let’s Get Together - DRINKS, TALKS AND POTS, from 17:00 to 21:00. There you will find colorful pots and delight yourself with a glass of bubbles while meeting and chatting with people with similar interests. Jochen Laveno Mangelsdorff Studio & Objects
Jochen Lavéno Mangelsdorff is throwing a market launch party, where visitors are welcome to see the new light collections right in his studio garage, from 17:00 to 22:00. A good atmosphere is provided by DJ and drinks. Jochen is offering his collection of candle holders and the newly-released design winner Spegla Mirror Lamp for purchase.
February, 9th: Joyful encounters
Pagunette
Start your morning with breakfast at Pagunette’s showroom, one of Scandinavia’s leading providers of quality textiles for public decor and homes. Find inspiration through their new textile collection, featuring the latest designs and fine qualities for Spring 2024. All visitors are welcome for the breakfast event from 08:00 to 11:00.
Astrid
Discover a passionate Swedish textile company, established in 2003, which provides high-quality fabrics with Scandinavian aesthetics. Visitors are welcome in Astrid's showroom, where most of their work will be on display. In addition to the exhibition, Astrid offers the opportunity for visitors to playfully combine and design their own textiles with a wide range of textures and color palettes. Everyone is invited to mix and match the fabrics from 09:00 to 16:00.
Kasthall
Kasthall creates distinctive and contemporary woven and hand-tufted rugs for floors all over the world. Their Design Studio awaits all visitors from 10:00 to 16:00 to engage in the timeless opportunity of crafting rugs by hand tufting. With the guidance of Kasthall’s experts, visitors are welcome to try this unique experience and gather insights about this type of art.
February, 10th: From present to future
Blå Station
Fatburen and Blå Station’s shared showroom is ready to meet and greet all passionate guests with the news for 2024 regarding innovative furniture designs. All guests are welcome from 10:00 to 14:00 for the open house.
Dahl Agenturer
Continue the day with a visit to the Dahl Agenturer’s pop-up store, where you will discover astounding handcrafted ceramics from Distriktet and Johanna Nilsson, along with selected ageless pieces from Hedvalls Vintage & Återbruk. Visitors are greeted from 12:00 to 16:00.
VERK
End the day by engaging in Verk Talks moderated by Maria Soxbo from 18:00 to 21:00. The theme of the panel discussion will be The Future of Swedish Fiber with the panel members: Ingegerd Råman, Rebecka Josefsson, and Johan Sidenmark.
February, 11th: Creation at its finest
Nordiska Galleriet
A majestic Scandinavian destination for design furniture, Nordiska Galleriet is opening its doors to all guests who seek inspiration and an eclectic mix of international designs from 11:00 to 16:00. The showroom will showcase iconic pieces from brands such as B&B Italia, de Sede, and Finn Juhl along with an installation featuring Alvar Aalto designs, developed by Artek and Formafantasma. A window installation by USM, the new Vaarnii deck chair designed by Faye Toogood, and the premiere of a reissued design icon - Amoeba “Model 5005” coffee table by Paul T. Frankl will also be displayed in the showroom.
SKULTUNA
Established by King Karl IX in 1607, Skultuna has maintained its commitment to timeless design and top-notch quality throughout the centuries. Skultuna is creating items that withstand the test of time, growing more beautiful with each passing day and generation that engages with, wears, and cherishes them. All guests are welcome to join a classical journey at their showroom, from 12:00 to 16:00.
Fogia Collection
End the last night with grace by visiting the award-winning Swedish design company and furniture producer, Fogia. Their design has roots in the Scandinavian design aesthetic.
Experience the transformation of Tjoget Restaurant & Bar, where the atmosphere is elevated by a selected collection of furniture on display. The icon of the night will be the custom Bollo Armchair, inspired by Tjoget’s signature cocktail. Celebrate the night with a couple of cocktails, from 14:00 to 01:00, and enjoy the Fogia Collection.
