Jakub Knápek

Jakub Knápek's work, which balances on the edge between design and fine art, is intertwined with his fascination with materials, colour and methods of production. Most often he works with glass, but his experience from his internship at the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn has directed him to a broader range of materials, where he also uses metal, wood and ceramics. He prefers to look for their limits and possibilities of interconnection in materials. His works convince the viewer that anything can be anything, you just have to think about it. They are objects that, with their exaggeration and wit, complete the idea of standard forms of applied art.
