Julian Cabral (b. 2004, Argentina) is a documentary photographer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.He focuses on long-term personal projects that explore the relationship between human beings and their environment. Cabral seeks to use photography as a tool for societal transformation.He studied documentary photography at TFDc with Martin Acosta and photographic aesthetics at Juan Travnik's workshop.In his latest project, "Lito," Cabral documented the past year of life of his uncle Lito, a schizophrenic who also suffers from a severe developmental disability.Cabral’s work has received recognition and grants, including distinction at the Sony World Photography Awards Youth competition (2021) and a highly commended award from the Ian Parry Scholarship (2022). He also made the short list of the Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Photography Award (2022) and was nominated for the Leica Oscar Barnack Awards 2023 (LOBA).He currently lives and works in Buenos Aires.
