Lonelas/Lohanna Oliveira is a Brazilian visual artist, art educator, and nomadic researcher, born in Porto Velho, Rondônia. In 2023, she graduated with honors in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) in Brazil. Her work aims to unravel the resonance of Brazil's historical past in contemporary patterns, exploring how hybrid media offers new perspectives on these tensions. Assemblage and installations are her primary artistic means of understanding the interplay between past, present, and future, delving into the complexities of geographic, social, and religious tensions. Throughout her career, she has accumulated various scholarships, awards, and sponsorships that have propelled her forward. Notably, she was honored with the Acquisition Prize at the Contemporary Art Biennial of the Social Service of Commerce (SESC). Additionally, she has actively contributed as a facilitator in workshops and as an evaluator of experimental photography and mail art at the Arte em Cena Festival in Paraíba, Brazil. Her passion for learning has led her to actively engage in research projects, exploring areas such as visual arts exhibitions, educational indicators, and political dimensions of art. She was awarded the Young Researcher Prize by the Pro-Rectorate of Research (Propesq) at UFPB.
